For parents

Why parents choose Flow State

Junior Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Flow State is for children aged 8–12. These are the qualities parents often ask about — without exaggerated promises.

  • Confidence

Children learn skills step by step in a structured class, building comfort on the mats over time.

  • Discipline

A clear class routine — listening, practising and finishing together — supports steady habits.

  • Respect

Partner work and coaching cues encourage listening, courtesy and looking after training partners.

  • Fitness

Sessions include movement, games and drills that get children active as they learn — not a separate workout programme.

  • Friendly environment

Junior classes run in a supportive, structured setting for ages 8–12. New children are welcome.

In class

What junior classes are like

Sessions follow a friendly, reassuring rhythm. Gi and no-gi junior classes both appear on the weekly timetable.

  1. Warm-up

The group settles in with light movement so everyone is ready to train together.

  2. Technique

A coach shows simple positions and details for the session, with time for questions.

  3. Games / movement

Age-appropriate games and movement help skills feel playful while staying structured.

  4. Partner drills

Children practise with a partner at a controlled pace so the movement starts to feel familiar.

  5. Finish together

Class wraps up as a group — a calm end to the session and a chance to check anything for next time.
